Cheyenne Goodman, known affectionately as Shiny, is the vocalist of Prima Materia and has deep roots in Jerome, Arizona. To her, Jerome is unlike anywhere else — a place where friendships grow into family, and where the community thrives through creativity and human connection. Music sits at the center of that experience, bringing people together across generations and backgrounds.

Shiny’s voice carries warmth, emotion, and joy. Her performances have a way of reaching people on a deeply personal level, creating moments that can be felt as much as heard. Her radiant spirit and her gift for bringing light to those around her are exactly why she’s called Shiny — and that same warmth shines through in her presence, in her photographs, and in every Prima Materia performance.

A Sedona Photo Shoot Built Around Personality and Beauty

We photographed Shiny in Sedona, Arizona this October — one of my favorite times of year to visit. The goal was simple: create images that showcased her personality and her beauty, not just how she looks, but who she is.

We shot in the water and around the high rocks and cliffs that Sedona is known for. It’s a bit of a hidden gem of a location, and it turned out to be an incredible spot — the kind of place that makes a session feel less like a shoot and more like an afternoon out in the landscape.

Arizona Photography Across the Valley and the High Desert

I travel to Arizona every couple of months and photograph throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Jerome, Sedona, and Cottonwood. As a wedding photographer, I shoot weddings and engagements, alongside family portraits, commercial work, maternity sessions, and Jiu-Jitsu photography — from the studio and the street to the trailhead and the river.
